Below is a list of the basic steps that are involved in the process of selling your home. At any point, please feel free to use me as a resource for any assistance or direction that you may need.
Step 1: Prepare to your home
It is important that you prepare your home for sale by getting it into perfect condition. Start by decluttering and removing any unnecessary items. Next, be sure to clean the home from top to bottom including any storage areas and closets. An organized storage area will appear much larger and accommodating. Finally, complete the process by staging. Rearrange furniture so that it shows off the space best. Add flowers to your landscaping or front steps to make the home as inviting as possible. Maintaining your home in this condition throughout the entire process is important to make a great impression on all buyers.
Step 2: Set the list price of your home
Many factors including market conditions, comparables, interest rates and your home’s location and condition will determine how much you can get for price. In some ways home selling is part art, part science, part marketing, and part negotiation. Market comps will be provided but ultimately the seller will set the final asking price.
Step 3: Negotiating an offer
Perhaps the most complex moment in the sales process comes when you get an offer for your home. Whether you have one offer or several to consider, I can assist you with how to create a strategy to achieve your goals.
Step 4: Plan your move
Once you have accepted an offer and contingencies are complete, you can begin your next stage in planning your move. The good news is that much of the cleaning, organizing and decluttering has already been done prior to listing the home for sale. Now you can begin organizing movers and incidentals as you prepare for your next chapter.
